Matt. 25
1 Tunc simile erit regnum cælorum decem virginibus : quæ accipientes lampades suas exierunt obviam sponso et sponsæ.
||||||"to virgins"|||lamps||went out||the bridegroom||to the bride
1 Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom and the bride.
|||||foolish||||||||"with lamps"||took|oil|||||||vessels|||
2 But five of them were foolish, and five were wise: 3 but the foolish, taking their lamps, took no oil with them: 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

6 And at midnight a cry was heard: Behold, the bridegroom is coming, go out to meet him.
7 Tunc surrexerunt omnes virgines illæ, et ornaverunt lampades suas.
|||virgins|||they adorned||
Then all those virgins rose and adorned their lamps.

But the foolish said to the wise: Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.
||||||suffice|||||||||buy|
The wise answered, saying: Perhaps there will not be enough for us and you; go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.

11 Then the last virgins come, saying: Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 At ille respondens, ait : Amen dico vobis, nescio vos.
|||||||I do not know|
12 But he responding, said: Truly I say to you, I do not know you.
13 Vigilate itaque, quia nescitis diem, neque horam.
13 Therefore stay awake, for you do not know the day or the hour.
|||"on a journey"|setting out||||||||
14 For just as a man going on a journey called his servants and entrusted his goods to them.
|to one||||||||||||his own|||"went away immediately"||
15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, each according to his own ability: and he went away immediately.
|||||had received||he worked||||||||
16 Now he who had received the five talents went and worked with them, and gained five more.
||||had received||||
17 Similarly, he who had received two gained two more.
||||going away|||||"hid"|||
18 But he who had received one went away, dug in the ground, and hid his master's money.
|||time|||of the servants||||||
19 After a long time, however, the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
20 Et accedens qui quinque talenta acceperat, obtulit alia quinque talenta, dicens : Domine, quinque talenta tradidisti mihi, ecce alia quinque superlucratus sum.

21 His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a little, I will set you over much; enter into the joy of your lord.
22 And he who had received the two talents came forward, saying: Lord, you delivered to me two talents; here I have made two talents more.
23 Ait illi dominus ejus : Euge serve bone, et fidelis : quia super pauca fuisti fidelis, super multa te constituam ; intra in gaudium domini tui.
23 His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a little, I will set you over much; enter into the joy of your lord.

24 Then he who had received one talent came forward, saying: 'Lord, I know that you are a hard man; you reap where you did not sow, and gather where you scattered no seed.' 25 So I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground: here you have what is yours.

26 But his lord answered him, 'You wicked and lazy servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I scattered no seed. 27 Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest.'
||||||||||||||to the one who has|||||||||||||||
28 Therefore take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. 29 For to everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who has not, even what he seems to have will be taken away.'

31 When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne: 32 and all the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats: 33 and He will place the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Tunc dicet rex his qui a dextris ejus erunt : Venite benedicti Patris mei, possidete paratum vobis regnum a constitutione mundi : 35 esurivi enim, et dedistis mihi manducare : sitivi, et dedistis mihi bibere : hospes eram, et collegistis me : 36 nudus, et cooperuistis me : infirmus, et visitastis me : in carcere eram, et venistis ad me.

34 Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry, and you gave Me food; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in; 36 I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.'

37 Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You? Or thirsty and give You drink?'
||||guest|||||naked||we covered|
38 When did we see you as a guest, and took you in: or naked, and clothed you?

39 Or when did we see you sick, or in prison, and came to you?
40 Et respondens rex, dicet illis : Amen dico vobis, quamdiu fecistis uni ex his fratribus meis minimis, mihi fecistis.
40 And the king will answer them: Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.
41 Tunc dicet et his qui a sinistris erunt : Discedite a me maledicti in ignem æternum, qui paratus est diabolo, et angelis ejus : 42 esurivi enim, et non dedistis mihi manducare : sitivi, et non desistis mihi potum : 43 hospes eram, et non collegistis me : nudus, et non cooperuistis me : infirmus, et in carcere, et non visitastis me.
|||||||||||cursed|||||prepared||||||||||||||||you gave||drink|||||||||||||||||||
Then he will say to those on his left: Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was hungry, and you did not give me anything to eat: I was thirsty, and you did not give me anything to drink: I was a stranger, and you did not welcome me: naked, and you did not clothe me: sick, and in prison, and you did not visit me.
||||||||||||||||||||||||we ministered|
Then they will also answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to you?
|will answer|||||||||||the least||||
Then he will answer them, saying: Truly I tell you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.
|will go|||eternal punishment||||||
And these will go into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life.
