Rom 14
Romans 14
||||"take in"|||"disputes of thoughts"|"of thoughts"
14 1 who is weak in faith, but not to doubtful.
||||||||||vegetables|
2 For another believes that he can eat everything: but he who is weak will eat vegetables.
He||||eating||"let him despise"|||||||||||"has accepted him"
3 He who eats does not condemn him who does not eat: and he who does not eat does not judge him who eats: for God has assumed him.
4 Tu quis es, qui judicas alienum servum ?
4 Who are you to judge another's slave?
He stands or falls to his master: but he will stand: for God is able to establish him.
5 Nam alius judicat diem inter diem : alius autem judicat omnem diem : unusquisque in suo sensu abundet.
|||||||||||each one abundantly||||
5 For one person judges day by day: another person judges every day: each one abounds in his own sense.
6 He who knows the day knows the Lord, and he who eats eats the Lord: for he gives thanks to God.
And he who does not eat, does not eat to the Lord, and gives thanks to God.
7 For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself.
8 Sive enim vivemus, Domino vivimus : sive morimur, Domino morimur.
"Whether"|||||"or"|||
8 For whether we live, we live to the Lord: whether we die, we die to the Lord.
Sive ergo vivimus, sive morimur, Domini sumus.
Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.
|||||||||||||"might rule over"
9 For in this Christ died, and rose again: that he might rule both the dead and the living.
10 Tu autem quid judicas fratrem tuum ?
10 And why do you judge your brother?
aut tu quare spernis fratrem tuum ?
|||"Do you despise"||
or why do you reject your brother?
omnes enim stabimus ante tribunal Christi.
||we will stand||judgment seat|
for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
|||||||||"shall bend"||||||"will confess"|
11 For it is written: As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 And so each one of us will give an account to God for himself.
||||"let us judge"||||||"you put"|stumbling block|||
13 Therefore let us not judge one another any more: but judge this more, lest you cause a stumbling block to your brother, or a stumbling block.
||||||||unclean, impure, common||||||"considers"||unclean|||unclean or common|
14 I know, and I trust in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is common through him, except to him who thinks that what is common is common to him.
||||||"is grieved"|||||
15 For if your brother is grieved because of food, you no longer walk according to charity.
|food||||||||
Do not destroy him with your food, for whom Christ died.
16 Non ergo blasphemetur bonum nostrum.
||"be blasphemed"||
16 So let not our good be blasphemed.
|||||food||drink|||||||||||||||||||||
17 For the kingdom of God is not food and drink: but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit: 18 for he that serveth Christ in this is pleasing to God, and is approved of men.
||||"let us pursue"|||||||"we keep"
19 Therefore, let us follow the things of peace, and let us guard one another the things of edification.
|||||||"indeed"||||||||||
20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of meat, indeed everything is clean: but it is bad for a man who eats through a stumbling block.
||||||||||||||"is offended by"||"is scandalized"||
21 It is good not to eat flesh, and not to drink wine, neither in which your brother stumbles, or stumbles, or becomes weak.
22 Tu fidem habes ?
22 Do you have faith?
penes temetipsum habe coram Deo.
"in the power"||||
keep yourself close before God.
Blessed is he who does not judge himself in what he likes.
|||||condemned|||||
23 But he who discerns, if he eats, is condemned, because it is not from faith.
But everything that does not come from faith is sin.
