1 Nolite judicare, ut non judicemini.
|judge|||be judged
1 Do not judge, lest you be judged.
||||you will judge|you will be judged|||which|measure|measured|you have been|it will be measured|
2 For with the judgment you pronounce, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
2 Car en quel jugement tu as jugé, tu seras jugé, et en quelle mesure tu as mesuré, il te sera rendu.
2 For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.
||you see|speck|||brother|||beam|||||do you see
3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
||you say||||I will cast|||||||beam||||
4 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye,' and look, a plank is in your own eye?
Hypocrite|cast out||||||||you will see|cast out|||||
5 Hypocrite, first remove the beam from your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
|give|holy|dogs||throw|pearls|your||pigs|||trample|them|with their feet|||turned|they trample|
6 Do not give what is holy to dogs, nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
small||it will be given||||you will find|knock||it will be opened|
7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
||||receives|||seeks|finds||to the one knocking|
For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.
||||||whom||asks||his son||will he||will give|
Or what man is there among you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
|||||serpent||
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
||||being|evil|know||things||your children|your||||your|||||will give||to those asking|
11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
||whatever|you want||they do|||||do|to them
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them.
|||law||the prophets
For this is the law and the prophets.
enter||narrow|gate||wide|gate||spacious||||leads||destruction||many|are||enter||
13 Enter through the narrow gate: for the gate is wide and the way is spacious that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it.
how|narrow|gate||narrow||||||life||few|||find|
14 How narrow is the gate and how narrow is the way that leads to life! And few are those who find it!
15 Attendite a falsis prophetis, qui veniunt ad vos in vestimentis ovium, intrinsecus autem sunt lupi rapaces : 16 a fructibus eorum cognoscetis eos.
|from|false|the prophets||come||||clothing|of sheep|inwardly|||ravenous wolves|ravenous wolves||fruits||you will recognize|
15 Beware of false prophets which come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves 16 By their fruits you will know them.
|gather||thorns|grapes|||thorns|figs
Do they gather grapes from thorns, or figs from brambles?
17 Sic omnis arbor bona fructus bonos facit : mala autem arbor malos fructus facit.
|every|||fruit|||bad|||||
17 So every good tree produces good fruit: but a bad tree produces bad fruit.
18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit: nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
|||||||will be cut down||||
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 Igitur ex fructibus eorum cognoscetis eos.
therefore|||||
20 Therefore, you will know them by their fruits.
|||||Lord||will enter|||||||will of||my|||||he|will enter|||
21 Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he will enter the kingdom of heaven.
22 Multi dicent mihi in illa die : Domine, Domine, nonne in nomine tuo prophetavimus, et in nomine tuo dæmonia ejecimus, et in nomine tuo virtutes multas fecimus ?
|they will say||||that day|||||name||we prophesied||||||we cast out|||||mighty works|many|we did
22 Many will say to me in that day: 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many wonders in your name?'
||I will confess|them||never|I knew||depart from||||you who work|iniquity
23 And then I will confess to them: Because I never knew you: depart from me, you who work iniquity.
23 And then I will confess to them: Because I never knew you: depart from me, you who work iniquity.
|||hears|words|my|||||will be likened|man|wise man||built||||rock||descended|rain|||rivers||blew|winds||rushed|||that|||fell|founded||||
24 Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock. 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it did not fall: for it was founded upon the rock.
|||hears||||||||like|||fool||||||sand||||||||||||||||||was|ruin|of it|great
26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.
||||he had finished||||they were amazed|||teaching|
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at his teaching.
|||||authority|||||scribes|||the Pharisees
29 For he was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes and Pharisees.
